01

Initial assessment

What happens at my first appointment?
Your initial assessment runs for a full 60 minutes. We take a detailed history, carry out a hands-on musculoskeletal examination, give you a clear working diagnosis in plain English and begin treatment the same session. You'll leave with a written plan and a personalised exercise programme emailed to you.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. As chartered physiotherapists we accept self-referrals directly. Simply book online or call the clinic — most patients are seen within a few days.
What should I wear or bring?
Comfortable clothing you can move in — shorts or a vest are ideal so we can examine the affected area. Bring any relevant scans, letters or medication lists.

Pricing

How much does treatment cost?
Physiotherapy with an initial assessment is £75 (45 min). Standard follow-ups are £60 (30 min). An initial physiotherapy appointment combined with a diagnostic ultrasound scan is £150. Every fee is quoted up front — there are no hidden charges. See our full price list for scans and shockwave therapy.
How many sessions will I need?
Most straightforward MSK problems resolve in three to five sessions. More complex or long-standing conditions may need more. We'll give you an honest estimate at the end of your first appointment.
How do I pay?
Payment is taken at the end of each session by card, contactless or bank transfer. Invoices for insurance claims are issued by email.
03

Insurance

Do you accept private medical insurance?
Yes — we are recognised by all major UK insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, WPA and Cigna. Please contact your insurer for pre-authorisation and bring your membership and claim numbers to your first appointment.
Can I claim back the cost of treatment?
If you're self-funding, we can provide a fully itemised invoice suitable for cash-plan schemes, HSA claims or tax purposes.

Appointments

How quickly can I be seen?
We hold same-week appointments for new patients and can often see acute cases within 24–48 hours. Evening slots up to 8pm are available Tuesday to Friday.
Are evening or weekend appointments available?
Yes. We run late clinics until 20:00 Tuesday to Friday, and offer Saturday and Sunday appointments on request.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged at 50% of the session fee.
