Desk-related problems we treat

Neck & shoulder tension

Aching across the shoulders and up the neck that builds through the working day and eases at weekends.

Tension headaches

Afternoon headaches from the base of the skull, jaw tightness and eye strain linked to screen time and sustained positions.

Low back & hip stiffness

Stiffness and aching after long periods seated, discomfort standing up and pain that returns each week at work.

Understanding your condition

Position, load and movement

Pain from desk work is rarely one bad posture — it is a long period in one position with too little movement, often combined with reduced neck, shoulder and trunk endurance. We assess all three and address the one that is actually driving your symptoms.

Practical workstation changes

We review your chair, screen, keyboard, laptop and home-working setup, then give specific adjustments and a short daily movement routine that fits into a real working day rather than an ideal one.

Common questions

Is my posture the cause of my pain?
Posture is one factor, but sustained position and low movement variety usually matter more than the shape of your spine. We look at your workload, breaks, strength and setup together.
Can you advise on my desk setup?
Yes. We review your screen height, chair, keyboard and laptop use, including home-working setups, and give practical adjustments you can make the same day.
I get headaches by the afternoon — can physiotherapy help?
Often, yes. Neck-related headaches respond well to hands-on treatment of the upper neck combined with strength and movement changes through the working day.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can self-refer directly for assessment and treatment.
